About

Hello, my name is Ellen Gwin! I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a BA in English Writing along with a year spent abroad studying French and ballet at Sorbonne University in Paris, France.

In my free time I am an avid reader of 16th century English literature, 19th century Russian literature, Greek classics, 1920s novels, and (almost) all philosophy. I also enjoy fashion, painting, and spending time outdoors.

This website will have four categories: “Writing Tips,” “Prompts,” “My Poetry,” and “Shop.” Later on I may add a category about book suggestions or perhaps essay writing, but for now this is enough!

My Poetry is going to serve as a main component of this blog, usually followed by a prompt or tip post soon before/after.

Writing Tips: Ideas for writers’ block, ways to reframe ideas, tricks for making poems more captivating, etc.

PromptsSeasonal ideas writers can make their own which encourage the use of poetic devices.
